Ten firefighters from the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department responded to a single family home fire on Longmore Street in Leonardtown on Saturday morning at 3:30 a.m. It took them 25 minutes to extinguish the blaze. The fire was discovered by a neighbor. The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office determine the fire started near a shed. the fire is under investigation. Early Saturday morning, fifty firefighters from the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department responded to a two alarm fire call on Finnea Way in Great Mills. It took them over two hours to put out the blaze at the two story single family residence. The fire was determined to have started in the garage. One firefighter sustained an injury to the ankle and was taken to the hospital for treatment and released.
