The estate of late singer George Michael has filed a lawsuit against his former best friend, Andros Georgiou, over the release of a documentary featuring never-before-seen footage and an unreleased album project called Trojan Souls – The Greatest Album That Was Never Made. Georgiou, who says he filmed the footage with Michael's blessing in the early 1990s, is charging fans to stream the documentary and insists the material belongs to him. He has accused the estate of trying to erase his role in Michael's life and called the lawsuit "sheer greed," saying the singer would have opposed the legal action. The unfinished Trojan Souls project was reportedly intended to include collaborations with stars such as Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Janet Jackson, and Aretha Franklin before it was abandoned following the illness and death of Michael's partner in 1993. The legal dispute will determine who has the rights to the rare recordings and footage.
