Pat McAfee In Talks With ESPN Over Staggering New Contract Worth $60 Million A Year

Pat McAfee may be headed for a massive payday. According to reports, ESPN is already negotiating a contract extension with the former NFL punter that could more than double his current earnings and pay him over $60 million a year. McAfee brought The Pat McAfee Show to ESPN in 2023 and has become one of the network's biggest stars, thanks to his daily three-hour show, appearances on College GameDay, and other programming. ESPN executives have credited him with helping attract younger viewers, particularly in the key 18-to-24 demographic. The reported talks come despite McAfee still having two years left on his current deal, which is believed to be worth nearly $30 million annually. His representatives reportedly sought a contract in the same neighborhood as the record-setting extension signed by Stephen A. Smith. Away from television, McAfee recently shared personal news about the birth of his son, Midas. The baby arrived four weeks early after McAfee's wife Samantha underwent an emergency C-section due to severe preeclampsia. Midas spent about 36 hours in intensive care before being released, and McAfee said the family has been celebrating ever since.

Happy Birthday
