“Michael” Surpasses “Bohemian Rhapsody” As Highest-Grossing Biopic Of All Time

The biopic Michael has become the highest-grossing music biopic in history, earning $911.9 million worldwide and surpassing Bohemian Rhapsody's $910.9 million global total. Starring Jaafar Jackson as his famous uncle, Michael Jackson, the film has brought in $358.6 million domestically and $553.3 million internationally. With its release in Japan, industry observers believe it could soon cross the $1 billion mark worldwide. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, the movie has also set several box-office records, including the biggest opening weekend ever for a music biopic and the highest-grossing biographical film in multiple international markets.
