Discovery Channel's annual "Shark Week" returns Sunday with 20 brand-new specials, and one of the featured stars is singer Rei Ami, whose voice was featured in the hit movie KPop Demon Hunters. Rei says filming with sharks off the Korean Peninsula was far more emotional than terrifying. During one dive, she watched about 16 reef sharks feeding and says the experience left her in tears because she was witnessing nature up close. Rei appears alongside comedian Ken Jeong in the kickoff special, "K-Pop Shark Heroes." While Rei completed cage dives and free dives with hammerheads, reef sharks, and bull sharks, Jeong jokes he was happy to stay safely on the boat, calling himself the "Christopher Nolan" of the adventure by directing everything from dry land. This year's lineup also includes high diver Molly Carlson, who conquered her lifelong fear of sharks by jumping 50 feet from a helicopter into a Plexiglas cage surrounded by reef sharks. Carlson, who has openly discussed her anxiety, hopes her experience encourages others to face their own fears.
