Everybody Loves Raymond Fans Shocked At Amount Ray Romano Makes In Residuals

Ray Romano is still cashing monster checks from Everybody Loves Raymond more than 20 years after the sitcom ended. Reports say Romano earns up to $18 million a year in syndication and streaming residuals from the show airing on platforms like Paramount and Peacock. Back in 2005, Romano set a Guinness World Record by making nearly $2 million per episode during the show’s ninth and final season. His massive contract also included royalties from syndicated reruns, which sparked tension with co-star Brad Garrett, who played Robert Barone. Garrett reportedly refused to work unless CBS renegotiated the cast’s contracts, arguing the pay gap was way out of line. The dispute got serious enough that his character was temporarily removed from an episode, and fellow cast members Patricia Heaton, Doris Roberts, and Peter Boyle backed him by calling out sick in solidarity. CBS eventually came back to the table. Garrett’s salary jumped significantly, and the supporting cast received small ownership stakes in the show’s syndication profits. Romano later admitted he knew backlash was coming once his salary numbers became public, saying the fight was “inevitable.”
