Dwayne Johnson says he's not bothered by the mixed reviews for Disney's live-action Moana, insisting the film accomplished what mattered most. While critics gave the remake a chilly reception, Johnson said he was proud that Polynesian culture was authentically represented and embraced by the community. The actor, who returned as Maui a decade after voicing the character in the original animated hit, said negative reviews are simply part of the movie business. Despite a disappointing box office run with about $266 million worldwide, Disney still expects Moana to become a strong performer on Disney , following the massive streaming success of the original film.
