Joe Manganiello is opening up about the painful end of his marriage to Sofia Vergara — and he's making some serious allegations about what happened behind closed doors. In his upcoming memoir, Bloodlines, the actor says his seven-year battle with a debilitating autoimmune disease put enormous strain on their relationship. Manganiello says his health deteriorated shortly after their 2015 wedding, with excruciating abdominal pain, fevers, rashes and other symptoms eventually causing him to lose 60 pounds and undergo emergency surgery that removed part of his intestines. He says he was left using an ostomy bag and was so desperate from the pain that he considered suicide in 2019. He claims the marriage became “devoid of any emotionality whatsoever” and alleges Vergara refused to hug him even when he begged her to. He also says she ridiculed him over Bubbles, the chihuahua he adopted after giving his gun away because of his suicidal thoughts.
