South Park Becomes 'South America' In Latest Jab At President Trump

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are making what they call a “big change” to their long-running animated series — at least temporarily. The two announced that South Park is now apparently being called “South America.” The announcement is a jab at President Trump and his recent efforts to rename geographical landmarks with the word “America.” Parker and Stone said they were inspired by “the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google” and also took a shot at their parent company, Paramount, calling it “a Skydance Capitulation.” The announcement came with a promotional image showing an “AMERICA” sticker plastered over the fictional Colorado town's sign. The new season premieres September 16, although the show still appears as South Park on Paramount .
