Ed Harris Blasts Taylor Sheridan In Astonishing Red Carpet Tirade Over His Role In Dutton Ranch

Ed Harris says he was disappointed with his role in Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone spinoff Dutton Ranch, claiming he was led to believe he'd be one of the show's four main characters before signing on. Harris said that once filming began, he realized his character, veterinarian Everett McKinney, had far less to do than expected. Harris admitted he became so frustrated that he told his representatives to "get me the f*** out of here," saying he felt "underused and inconsequential." One moment that particularly upset him was when a bar scene featuring his character singing was cut from the final episode. Producers reportedly told him the scene didn't fit the darker tone of the ending, but Harris said the decision angered him enough to consider voiding his contract. Despite his frustrations, Harris is expected to return for season two after being told his character will have a larger role. His comments come as Taylor Sheridan's TV empire continues to attract behind-the-scenes headlines, including the well-publicized split between Sheridan and Kevin Costner during the final seasons of Yellowstone.
