Trey Parker and Matt Stone announced the premiere date during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Shortly afterward, Comedy Central released a 10-second promo featuring Cartman sitting on a toilet accompanied by very enthusiastic bathroom sound effects. So yes, after nearly three decades, the creative vision remains: “What if fart jokes, but professionally?” During the interview, host Jimmy Kimmel joked that Parker and Stone probably wouldn’t start making the season until the day before it airs. Parker admitted they’ll actually return to work in late August — but “only for a few hours a day.”
