In a TikTok posted on Tuesday, Biles revealed that a recent red carpet appearance cost her $23,000 just for hair, makeup, and styling. No mansion, no sports car—just looking fabulous for a few hours and smiling near a step-and-repeat wall. She asked followers if that kind of price tag is normal because, in her words, she was “kind of spiraling” over it. While she understands prices have gone up, she made it clear that if this is the new standard, she’s officially retiring from red carpets and “staying inside where it’s free.” Biles also joked that there’s no way some influencers and celebrities are paying that kind of money every single time they pop up at events because, frankly, some of them are outside way too often for that math to make sense. Other creators chimed in. Some said they pay around $1,000 each for hair and makeup, while others said full red carpet prep can run anywhere from $6,000 to $8,000 depending on styling, transportation, and travel. Fellow Olympian Mikaela Shiffrin jumped in too, saying she’d been wondering the same thing, prompting Biles to reply that they needed to cry together.
