Carey also teased her unreleased grunge album, Someone’s Ugly Daughter, originally recorded in 1995. When asked when fans might hear it, she replied, “Not yet,” calling that a hint. Carey has previously said music executives blocked her from releasing the alternative-rock project under her own name. The album was eventually released under the band name Chick, with Carey contributing backing vocals under a pseudonym. She says she still hopes to officially release the music someday.
