More than a decade after 22 Jump Street hit theaters, a third movie is officially in the works. Despite the confusing math, the new film will reportedly be called 24 Jump Street. Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, and Ice Cube are all in talks to return, with Rodney Rothman directing from a script he co-wrote with Hill and Meghan Malloy. The first two movies, based on the classic TV series, followed undercover cops Schmidt and Jenko as they infiltrated a high school drug ring and later went undercover on a college campus. The films were huge hits, earning more than $500 million worldwide and becoming one of Hollywood's most successful comedy franchises. What's funny is that Tatum wasn't exactly enthusiastic about a third movie back in 2014. At the time, he said the college setting felt like the obvious next step and wasn't sure where the story could go after that without becoming repetitive. He even joked that maybe the characters would have to take down the government next. Tatum also revealed that the long-rumored 21 Jump Street and Men in Black crossover remains one of the best scripts he's ever read, although that project never made it to the screen.
